PVC/Head of College's Welcome

I am delighted that you are considering joining us here at the College of Arts and I hope you will find the supporting materials that are included on this site useful in providing you with an insight into both the University, and the Schools that we are recruiting to. I would also encourage you to watch the short video included on this site, where I take the opportunity to share with you my initial views of the University, and what attracted me to the College.

If you join us, you will be part of a forward-thinking, ambitious and international institution. We are currently seeking inspiring academics to lead three newly formed Schools of Study, Architecture & Design, English & Journalism, and History and Heritage, and help us achieve our vision of becoming a top 40 university by 2020.

As Head of School you will offer strategic leadership and vision within your School, shaping and developing its research and teaching profile in line with the College's broader aims. You will also be a part of the senior management of both the College and the University.

Our ideal candidate for this pivotal role will possess a strong track record of research, a commitment to excellent teaching, and an understanding of the wider environment within which Higher Education operates. An ambitious individual, you will have high levels of personal integrity and credibility and enjoy the challenge of working with staff to create a compelling, shared vision for your School.

In return we offer an attractive remuneration package, a supportive atmosphere, and a positive working environment in the heart of a beautiful, safe and friendly university city.
